Stamped Concrete
Fresh concrete pressed with stone, slate, brick or wood-plank mats, then colored two ways for depth. Popular for patios, entries and pool decks.
Commercial & Residential Concrete
Stamped, stained, exposed aggregate and polished concrete for patios, driveways, entries and commercial floors across Greater Houston. Poured, colored and sealed by our own crews for the heat and humidity here.

Service Overview
Faded color, a chalky haze and a slick surface are how a decorative slab fails when it was sealed wrong for this climate. Houston drops about 52 inches of rain a year and holds long UV-heavy summers. The humidity here keeps a slab from ever drying all the way. That mix pulls the color out and chews through cheap sealer fast. Decorative concrete is regular structural concrete finished to look like stone, brick, wood or polished tile. It holds its color here when the slab and the sealer are both done right. Jimenes Construction is a self-performing concrete contractor with 23 years in Houston. Our own crews form, pour, stamp, stain and seal every job in house, built for the clay and heat here.
With no brokered finish sub, the color and pattern you approve on a sample board are the ones that get sealed in. We do four main looks: stamped, stained, exposed aggregate and polished. They go on a concrete patio, a driveway, a front entry, a pool deck or a commercial floor.
We pick UV and moisture-rated sealers built for this climate, and we add non-slip grit where water sits. At closeout you get a written re-seal schedule so the finish keeps its color. If you want a bonded finish instead of a poured one, see concrete coatings.
Coverage
Each finish is its own craft. We crew, pour and seal all six in house.
Fresh concrete pressed with stone, slate, brick or wood-plank mats, then colored two ways for depth. Popular for patios, entries and pool decks.
Acid stain reacts with the slab for a marbled, natural look. Water-based stain gives a wider, more even color range. Both work on new or existing floors.
The top paste is washed off to show the stone underneath. A tough, non-slip finish that hides wear, good for driveways and walkways in the sun.
Ground and honed to a matte or high-gloss shine with a densifier. A low-dust, low-maintenance floor for shops, showrooms and warehouses.
A thin stampable or micro-topping bonded over a sound slab. Refreshes a worn patio or entry without tearing out the concrete under it.
Color mixed into the whole load or dry-shake hardener broadcast on top, sealed for a clean, single-tone driveway, walk or commercial slab.
Our Process
Five steps, the same on a front entry and on a commercial polished floor. Call (832) 576-3278 to start at step one.
We look at the space and pick the finish, pattern and colors. Then we pour a sample board so you approve the real look before the truck rolls.
A written quote tied to the sample: square footage, base prep, color and release, stamp or aggregate, sealer type and the re-seal plan.
Old concrete comes out if needed, then the base is compacted and forms are set to drain away from the house. Wire or rebar goes in so the slab holds together.
One placement, then we stamp, wash for aggregate, or broadcast color while the concrete is right. Control joints are cut to hide future cracks.
We cure, apply the Houston-rated sealer, add non-slip grit in wet areas, then walk the job and hand you the care and re-seal schedule.

Engineering & Compliance
A pretty finish over a bad slab still cracks. We build the slab right, then make it look good.
Why Jimenes
The same crew forms, pours, stamps, stains and seals. A decorative finish is a timing job, and nothing gets lost between a pour crew and a finish sub.
Color looks different wet, dry and sealed. We pour a sample board first, so you sign off on the actual finish in your own light.
We pick UV and moisture-rated sealers and add non-slip grit for wet areas. We cut control joints so the clay under the slab does not crack your finish.
Base prep, color, stamping or grinding and sealer each get their own line. You see what drives the cost, and change orders are signed before the work.
Credentials
Texas does not license concrete contractors, so we send the insurance certificate with every proposal. Here is what a decorative concrete contractor in Houston can actually show you.
Where We Work
Headquartered in Houston and pouring decorative concrete across the Greater Houston area, from inside the 610 Loop out past the Grand Parkway. If you searched for decorative concrete near me and landed here, this is the radius we cover. We can be on site the same week.
Good Questions
Still not sure? Call and talk to the person who will run your job.
Talk to a BuilderThere is no flat rate, because the finish drives the price. A basic colored or single-tone slab costs the least. Stamped concrete costs more, and a multi-color stamped patio or a stained floor costs more again. The things that move the decorative concrete cost are square footage and the finish you pick. Tear-out of old concrete and the number of colors move it too. We do not publish a price per square foot, since a number given before we see the space is a guess. Ask for the free written estimate. Every line is spelled out. For a full patio build, see our concrete patios page.
Color holds up well when the sealer is right and kept up. The finish itself holds its tone for years. A cheap sealer clouds or wears off in our UV and humidity, and that is what makes color look dull.
It can be if it is sealed smooth. That matters most on a pool deck, an entry or any shaded spot that stays damp. We fix that two ways. We add a non-slip grit to the sealer, and we use a textured finish like a light stamp or exposed aggregate where water sits. For pool areas we build the whole surface for grip. See our pool decks page for how we handle wet zones.
Often, yes. If the slab is sound and not badly cracked, we bond a stampable overlay or a stain over the top. That refreshes a worn patio, driveway or entry without tearing out the concrete. If the slab is broken, heaved or crumbling, an overlay just cracks with it, and we would repair or replace first. See concrete repair and restoration for that path, or concrete coatings if you want a bonded coating instead of a poured finish.
It depends on where it goes and the look you want.
You can walk on most finishes the next day. Put patio furniture back in about a week, and wait a few more days before a car drives on a new decorative driveway. The sealer needs a dry window to set, so Houston humidity and rain can add a day or two. We give you the exact dates at contract, and we do not rush a sealer coat just to finish faster.
